tickets, laundry bags, yea even Eras, the 17's elected as official head of the family, W. H. Bakes, as president, to guide us through the trials and tribulations of our freshman year. From the very start we developed our famous hoggish spirit in athletics. We fairly wallowed in victories. Our basketball team, Luke, Allred, Stevens, Sorenson, White, Gillies, and others, defeated every opponent, and ended the season with a brilliant victory in the Murdock gym. After a strenuous day of which, as usual, we were the whole show, we gathered that Thursday afternoon before Founders' Day, in the new auditorium, two hundred strong, at the big social event of the year -- our Murdock Dedication Banquet. Lavish provisions had been made and supplied, and after the big "eats," the distinguished list of singers and speakers were ushered forward by Prof. Maeser who presided as toast-master. It was indeed a grand day!
