Dramatic performances are always a special feature of the student activities. Tryouts are held for parts in the play, so that all those who desire may have a chance of performing. The Music Department offers the best of training in band, orchestra, choir, chorus and private work to qualify students to appear on the concert program. The musical performances of the school are an important feature of the Student Body activities. Lyceum Course. Six numbers will appear on the Lyceum course this year. All are of high quality and promise to be highly pleasing and instructive in their turns. ENTRANCE. The course of study at the Murdock Academy begins with the second year high school. For entrance, applicants must have completed the ninth grade, or must pass entrance examinations. A student who has not finished the ninth grade should bring with him a written statement from his teacher or principal of the school last attended recommending him as qualified to pursue second year high school work. Ninth grade students will be taken care of in the Beaver public school. One of the best school buildings in the state has just been completed at Beaver, where a ninth grade course .of standard rating will be given. Any outside students who wish to come to Beaver and attend the public school will be given the same privileges of free rent at this institution as reg ular Murdock students. Except with special permission no regular student may register for less than three units of work, nor more than four and one-half units of work. The institution is open to all people of good character who fill the entrance requirements and live up to the school standards. It is the aim of the school to uphold and assist in maintaining the laws of the state. The school standard is one of law and order, the respecting of public and private rights. Students are held responsible for any injury done to school property.
