Hoodoos are geologic formations made from soft sedimentary rock topped by a harder rock, so erosion creates unusual shapes and columns. Hoodoos eroded from red Entrada sandstone are found in Goblin Valley State Park, which is just outside of The San Rafael Swell in what is known as the San Rafael Desert. One may wander, run, or climb on any of the weird creatures that stand in this valley. Historically it was first named "Mushroom Valley" and then changed to Goblin Valley, and in later years has been referred to as Alien Landing, but whatever the name, it is unlike any other place, making a perfect playground for the young at heart.
