Look closely to see the crack in the landscape that continues to the top of the photograph. Slot canyons such as this are examples of erosion's power to cut deep pathways far below once solid surfaces. Devil's Canyon is seen here running left and right in the foreground of the pictures with an even narrower side canyon veering off from it. Slot canyons often make great hiking trails for the adventurous. One never is sure what might be encountered around the next bend. Some trails are easy enough for families, while others requre climbing equipment and tehcnical skills. Some slot canyons join with others and make a hiking loop such as Ding and Dang Canyons and Little Wild Horse Canyon which connects with Bell Canyon.
