USGS photographer W. T. Lee took this photo of a wagon in Black Dragon Canyon before roads. Black Dragon is near the eastern border of the San Rafael. It has a pictograph of a strange looking creature that is called the Black Dragon. The San Rafael Swell was the last area of the United States to be surveyed because it was so rough and remote. This collection of United States Geological Survey photographs date between 1911 and 1936.
