Window Blind Peak is one of the highest monoliths in the United States. It is the highest formation in the photograph. It has two unfinished arches, giving the impression of windows with blinds drawn. The Native Americans dubbed it "Blind Window" because you can't see through them, it translated into window blind. It is called Window Blind Castle by earlier residents. It is now usually referred to as Window Blind Butte or Window Blind Peak. From the distance, explorers looked at the San Rafael Swell and saw all the formations left from erosion as castles. So the area is known as Castle Valley. Window Blind is one of those formations.
