A slide presentation was put together by Emery County on the Swasey History on the San Rafael Swell. This is Slide #11, the arch in Eagle Canyon. Many places on the San Rafael Swell have a story to go with them -- stories relating to the Swaseys. Eagle Canyon was named when Rod and Joe were riding through from the Head of Sinbad. "Hell, Joe, even an eagle couldn't fly out of here," Rod said. The arch is called Eagle Arch, but also known as Beerstein Arch, because it looks like the handle of a beer stein.
