Joe Swasey and sons built this cabin in 1921 on the San Rafael Swell at the Head of Sinbad. There are other Swasey cabins built on the Swell as well as other places around the Castle Valley area. The Swasey brothers did a lot of teasing and practical jokes. The story is told about Sid and Charlie finding a bear in one of their cabins. Charlie pushed Sid inside and bolted the door and cried into the cabin, "Now fight that bear fair, Sid!" Whether he fought fair or not, Sid won and came out with a dead bear.
