Owen Price worked on flood control projects with the Forest Service. He said, "There was this fellow we called him Pop Young. He smoked a pipe. He didn't see very good out of one eye. He had a cane, and he had somebody that would help him with this thing on up. They'd point out these rocks to these kids; he'd tap it with his cane, and he'd say take that one and put that in this way and that way, "put your mortar..." you know? He followed this thing all the way up. He had a chair; he was sitting in his chair and he'd give his instructions from there to this bunch of kids. It must have been a durable job; there's not a crack in it."
