The rockwork in this photograph was done as stream bed stablization, part of the conservation procedures done with rivers and streams all over the country. Owen Price who was part of this company when a young man said there was a "fellow we called Pop Young. He smoked a pipe. He didn't see very good out one eye. He had a cane...He'd point out these rocks to the kids--tap it with his cane, and he'd say 'take that one and put that in this way and that ways...put in your mortar...'
