Elmo Geary and high school friends went to the San Rafael Swell for Easter weekend in a wagon pulled by horses. Another group of teenagers went to the same area in an automobile and ran off the road and crashed. No one was hurt badly, but the event was witnessed by this group of the victim's friends, making it a most memorable weekend. Spending Easter weekend on the San Rafael Swell is a tradition in Emery County that goes back to early 1900s. Locals call the tradition "Eastering"
