Aug. 4 . 1884.. .(Election) Mayor: Councilors :
Oct. 29, 1883.. .New Mayor. John P a r r y , conducted. Bengt Nelson. R. W. Heyborne, Thomas Tborley, and William D . Leigh a r e entitled t o hold s e a t s in the City Council, being duly elected on Aug. 6 . 1883. One Councilor did not qualify, and the Mayor was to confer with M . H. Dalley to fill t h e vacancy. (Accepted) Nov. 2 , 1883.. .On motion of Councilman Thorley, Joseph Perkins was to be appointed to look a f t e r t h e new ditch a n d keep i t in suitable repair for winter u s e . Carried (West Field Ditch) Appointed a committee to repair t h e old school house for the use of t h e Council. Nov. 5 . 1883.. .Mayor, having interviewed Joseph P e r k i n s , said Perkins declined taking charge of the new ditch, a s p e r appointment a t last meeting of Council. On motion of Councilman Nelson. William Walker was to be appointed a s Water Supervisor f o r Cedar City. Carried. Nov. 1 2 , 1883.. . Watermaster, John Chatterley, p r e s e n t e d a detailed statement of labor, a n d other e x p e n s e s , on t h e new city ditch a s follows:
