Jan. 11, 1875.. . a committee was appointed to obtain lands for streets, e t c . It was recommended t h a t the City Council buy (from Homer Duncan1 all the land lying on the west side of the Creek. ( I n t h e mouth of Cedar Canyon1 Feb. 19, 1875.. . T h e City Council allowed the Supervisor of City Ditches $1.50 p e r day for labor. All delinquent bills to the City were required to be paid up o r be given a note bearing interest at one per cent p e r month. April 29, 1875.. .City taxes were assessed a t one half of one percent for the year 1875. City lots on the east side of the Creek, and owned b y t h e Corporation, were placed in t h e Auditor's r e p o r t a t $25 p e r lot. March 29, 1875.. . T h e Marshal was t o notify H . Chaffin to up the excavation t h a t he made opposite Lot 15, Block Plat B within 30 d a y s , a s his changing the course of ditch was damaging and detrimental to t h e i n t e r e s t s of City and also dangerous to persons and animals. May 2 9 , 1875.. .The Marshal was to inform Mr. H . Sudweeks that his corral, situated on one of t h e main water s e c t s of the City, is a nuisance and request him to move i t forthwith. June - 25. 1875. ..George P e r r y a n d J e n s Nielsen were assigned as a special committee t o visit Hiram P e r r y a n d request him to quite digging u p a portion of Birkbeck S t r e e t , a s he has been doing to make adobies, and fill u p the hole already made. Sept 23. 1875.. .The City decided to take wheat, barley, a n d oats at 20 ; p e r l b . and corn a t 20 p e r l b . in payment of City Taxes. Oct. 30. 1875 ...H. Morrill was released a s T r e a s u r e r f o r the Cedar City Corporation, in consequence of his absence from home on his mission t o haul lumber for t h e St. George Temple. He was replaced by Richard Palmer. Taxes of Thomas Gower, J . S. Vance, a n d Mrs. Ellecar were cancelled for 1875.
