March 17, 1985.. .Mayor appointed Bonnie Stapley a s Chairwoman of the Beautification Committee. Tom Cardon presented an a r t i s t ' s rendition of t h e proposed Youth Detention Facility (1700 North 300 E a s t ) . March 21, 1985.. .A special meeting will be held March 27 with t h e School Board to discuss the Hydro-Tube proposed for t h e City-School Swimming Pool. (Motion on March 27 t o proceed.) Proposals for a new ladder Fire T r u c k : Low bid-$239,942. Unanimous. Motion to purchase land to extend the runway a t t h e Airport and for installation of a microwave landing system. Government will pay approximately 91'6, and t h e State a n d City will split t h e balance. May 2. 1985.. .Jack Carter made a motion to approve a conditional use permit for t h e Iron County Jail. ( T o be built in north section of town next to Fiddler's Canyon.] May 16, 1985.. .After much discussion Conrad Hatch made a motion to not sign t h e lease with Southern Utah Aviation until the portion of the Airport master plan relating to land use facilities is completed. Carried. May 2 3 , 1985.. . T h e Governor will meet with local officials on May 24th. June 2 0 . 1985.. .Bill Ronnnow, Attorney for citizens for Responsible Development, asked t h e City to rescind t h e conditional use permit granted for t h e Iron County Jail Complex (2000 North Main). Financing for the water slide (Hydro-Tube) a t t h e Swimming Pool was secured through Zion's Bank. (Slide opening to he July 20th)
