Councilman Shirley made March 6 , 1980.. .Power Resolution: motion to adopt the resolution to implement acquisition of Municipal Light a n d Power System and s e n d i t to t h e Public Service Commission. Carried. March 20, 1980.. .Councilman Fife made t h e motion to approve amending t h e Cemetery plat map. [ T h i s will allow two grave spaces in one plot. ) Unanimous. [On April 1 7 , requirements were revoked for flat headstones.) A new Power Board was formed appointing Eldon Schmutz, Neil Boyter. May 15, 1980.. .Councilman Shirley made a motion to adopt the resolution authorizing t h e commencement of condemnation proceedings against C . P . National Corporation a n d Utah Power and Light Company. Carried. Councilwoman Starr made motion to approve the appointment of Councilman Fife to a committee to research the feasibility of having a Zoo in Cedar City. Unanimous. J u n e 19, 1980.. . T h e City Engineer was directed to investigate t h e area in t h e southeast p a r t of town to see what could be resoLved to alleviate t h e low water p r e s s u r e problem. After some discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Hiskey t h a t the City parking meters be removed. Unanimous. The bid for Diesel Fuel was $.a99 p e r gallon a n d t h e bid for regular gas was $1.027 p e r gallon. The t a x Mill Levy was s e t a t 23.5 m i l l s . The City filed application for Federal Funding for land acquisition a t t h e Airport for installation of t h e instrument landing system.
