Oct. 20, 1977.. .City Attorney Ralph Renson submitted resignation. Motion to appoint Robert Braithwaite was unanimous. An Occupation Safety and Health Administration Inspector issued citations covering deficiencies a t the new City Waste Water Plant. Compliances will cost $16,519, to be paid out of t h e remaining contingency f u n d . Nov. 3, 1977.. .Electric Utility Board recommended t h a t t h e City s t a r t a feasibility s t u d y . No action taken. Nov. 7, 1977.. .Special meeting. The Power Board again recommended a feasibility s t u d y . Councilmen Burbidge motioned to proceed immediately. Councilmen S t r a t t o n , Slack, and Whiting voted y e s , Councilman Larson voted no, and t h e Mayor asked that the minutes show that he is not in favor of approving authorization for the s t u d y , a s i t is an unnecessary expenditure of public f u n d s ; and t h e Feasibility Study will more than likely indicate Cedar City's interests will best be s e r v e d by a private utility distributing electrical power. Nov. 14, 1977.. . T h e Council met to canvass t h e Municipal Election held November 8 . At t h e r e q u e s t of Mayor-elect, Jack Sawyers, the Council agreed to defer t h e action until the new Council takes office in J a n u a r y . Dec. 1, 1977.. .Mayor Jones iniormed t h e Council that he was served with a summons stemming from a lawsuit filed against the Cedar City Corporation b y D . and 0. Sanitation, asking t h a t they he given the right to offer garbage collection services within the City limits and to have their business license reinstated. No action taken--forwarded to City Attorney.
