Jan. 6 , 1977.. .City Attorney. Joe Jackson, has accepted an appointment a s Juvenile Judge. T h u s , he submitted his resignation as City Attorney. The Oath of Office was given to Orwin H . Green, Fire Chief, and David E. Bentley, Assistant Fire Chief. Jan. 13, 1977 ...M r . Paul Nelson appeared before the Council and asked that he be allowed to obtain an outside City limits water connection in order to water his family's herd of cattle. Motion to deny. Unanimous. Chief of Police, Doug Bolton, stated: The under age drinking is one of the major crime problems in Cedar City. Councilman Burbidge motioned to ask for an ordinance to i m ~ o s e automatic s u s ~ e n s i o n of violators of beer license. Unanimous. Feb. 3, 1977.. .City Attorney filed a protest to the Civil Air Board ruling, allowing Air West to suspend service to Cedar City, effective April 20. 1977. The School Board gave final approval to the Architect's (John Rowley) plans of t h e proposed new City-Iron County Schools, indoor-outdoor Swimming Complex--50-50 basis with school. Feb. 1 7 , 1 9 7 7 . . .In view of the fact that Iron County has withdrawn payments , t o Cedar City Corporation for County residents to use the Cedar City Landfill, Councilman Whiting made motion authorizing the City to post a guard at the Landfill entrance to assess a dumping fee to any person, not a resident of Cedar City. Rates to be $1,00 minimum, $ 2 . 0 0 for each pickup load. and $5.00 for any t r u c k . one ton and over. Effective March 1, 1977.
