The County Commissioners met with the City Council a n d stated their s t a n d regarding finances available for a television Booster Station. The City appointed a committee. Oct. 3 . 1957.. .Motion by Councilman Heywood t o accept the resolution to proceed to bond for t h e purchase of t h e Hotel El Escalante. Nov. 21, 1957.. .Clarence Miller, Elwood C a r r y , a n d Bill Thorley, D i r x o r s of t h e State Bank of Southern Utah, a n d Robert White, Cashier, met with the Council to request that t h e City consider depositing some of the City f u n d s in their Bank. The Council agreed to consider the request later in the meeting. Decision was to t r a n s f e r the Water Reserve Fund of 529.685 from First Security Bank to State Bank of Southern Utah. After J a n u a r y 1 , 1958, t h e Council w i l l , p e r h a p s , consider t r a n s f e r of other f u n d s . Dec. 19, 1957.. .City Planning Committee s e n t a letter t o the College of Southern Utah to advise them t h a t t h e dairy b a r n s should not be on t h e campus.
