Mar. 25, 1952.. .Motion by Councilman Lunt t h a t the water r a t e s be raised to $6.00 p e r q u a r t e r for 30.000 gallons minimum, a n d 18P p e r 1000 gallons from 30.000 to 80,000, a n d 16P p e r 1000 for all water usage over 80.000 gallons. April 23, 1952.. .Charles Wells, Acting Chief of Police. complained t h a t beer parlors were selling beer to minors. He r e p o r t s t h a t h e hired a special investigator a n d found t h a t El Rey Lounge a n d Milt's Circus Lounge were guilty of selling beer to minors. Attorney Isom h a s t h e r e p o r t s from t h e investigator. Cedar City to place these establishments u n d e r careful surveillance f o r a period of time. Pat Fenton is back from t h e Service. Motion was made by Councilman Milne t h a t Pat Fenton be hired back ( a s City Attorney) s t a r t i n g May 1, 1952 a s p e r leave. Carried. May 15, 1952.. .Mrs. Maggie Mae Bess a n d Mrs. Ernest Lawrence met r e g a r d i n g t h e ravine o r wash on 500 East called Squaw Cave Wash. They feel t h a t i t is dangerous a s a flood menace. They would like something done to protect them from flood waters. Mayor Broadbent appointed a County and City Water Board consisting of Warren Bulloch. Browning Platt, Lehi M. Jones, Loren Whetten, a n d Doug Clark. City Manager Thorsen received a l e t t e r from t h e Bureau of Veterans Re-employment Rights clarifying t h e r i g h t s of a r e t u r n e d Veteran. Bob Avedisian ( a past City Employee a n d a Veteran) will go back on the Parking Meters May 1 6 , a t 9 a.m. ( T h e v e r y next morning) J u n e 5, 1952.. .Council was asked to consider outside t h e City limits. After discussion, i t was have no water for sale." Homer Jones a n d the Golf Club Committee Council. They asked t h a t the old City Dump t h a t they can get the new Golf Course ready for selling water decided, "we met with t h e be moved s o use.
