June 1, 1950 ... Councilman Seegmiller reports t h a t an ideal location for the City Dump has been found, south of the Stockvard. ( I n Cross Hollow, south and west of town) City could- acquire a 99 year lease from the Bureau of Land Management for as much land as they want. Orville Isom asked that he be given the job of revamping the Ordinance Book, and he paid next y e a r . June 2 2 , 1950.. . A motion was made a s follows: Due to the lack of f u n d s and other lmportant expenditures, we cannot a t this time revise the Ordinance Book. Motion t h a t the 1951 budget include a contract for revising the Ordinance Book. and it be p u t out on a bid basis. The Water Board recommends: Contract be let immediately for construction of a 2 million gallon Steel Storage T a n k . [ T h e r e was a severe water shortage in the year 1950) I t was recommended t h a t Theron Ashcroft be authorized to make an up-to-date map of the water distribution system. The offer of 52,500 to the American Legion for the property on Center Street and First West was under advisement ( f o r a new Library building). Councilman Grames (who was also the Fire Chief) suggested that a notice be published in the newspaper t h a t , when the fire siren blows, everyone t u r n off the water on lawns, e t c . , to give p r e s s u r e to the water system. Councilman Milne discussed the fly problem--City to purchase a Fly Spray Machine a t approximately $250, a n d s e t u p a program for f l y control. Motion made that the City Attorney is to notify all subdividers t h a t they must he responsible for water and sewer lines in their subdivision. Unanimous. July 6 , 1950.. .Melvin Arns and Jack Brown, representing the American Legion, asked that the City give the Legion the $5000 promised--the Legion will accept no compromise ( f o r Library site p r o p e r t y ) . July 2 0 , 1950.. .Orville Isom met with the Council regarding the suit of Cline. Wilson, and Cline against the City on the 'power deal.' Cline, Wilson, and Cline asked to postpone the case until s p r i n g . Motion was made by Councilman Seegmiller to i n s t r u c t Mr. Isom to go ahead with the suit a s scheduled and instruct Cline, Wilson, and Cline that t h e r e will be no delay in the appeal for the Power Suit. (On January 4 , 1951, a legal bill from Attorney Isom, for work on the 'power deal,' in the amount of 5350 was submitted. A t that time the case was dismissed. ) Aug. 3, 1950 ... Attorney, Pat Fenton, asked for a leave of absence. He had been called into Military Service with the National Guard Unit. (Korea) A delegation from the Chamber of Commerce met with the
