CEDAR CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT May 1. 1941. . .Councilman Jones b r o u g h t u p t h e matter of reimbursing the Cedar Sheep Association for additional expense they were forced to pay to attach to the s e w e r , which was not laid to t h e p r o p e r depth a t t h e time i t was installed in 1925. T h e y , owing t h e City $283.10 for t h e paving of Main S t r e e t , wish t h e City to cancel t h e paving bill in lieu of ,the old sewer claim. Taken u n d e r advisement. May 15, 1941.. .Committee on Recreation a n d Swimming Pool reported their action in selecting Vern Cooley a s Manager of t h e swimming pool a n d Wallace Osborn a s Assistant Manager. Charges f o r swims a r e a s follows: Children, during t h e day and if accompanied by p a r e n t s a f t e r 5 p.m.--100; children without p a r e n t s a f t e r 5 p.m.--30e; adults before 5 p.m.--2W: adults a f t e r 5 p.m.--300: s u i t s for rent--100; a n d towels for rent--5e. The swimming pool will be closed on Sundays a n d open each week day from 9 a.m. to 1 2 noon a n d 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. $60 was allowed f o r the expense of t h e exhibition a t the opening of t h e new Swimming Pool. The recommendation of the committee was a p p r o v e d , with the exception t h a t the Swimming Pool will open on each The committee had s u g g e s t e d t h a t Sunday from 2 t o 6 p.m. the City also p u t in a stock of c a n d y , b a r s , pop, e t c ; 'but the Council decided t h a t the City will sell nothing b u t swimming caps a n d swimming accessories. Chamber of Commerce a n d Junior Chamber of Commerce were asked to s e n d invitations to State officials a n d City Officials of neighboring cities to a t t e n d t h e opening of o u r Swimming Pool. J u n e 1 9 , 1941.. .Discussed unpaid light bill of $78.46 for softball field. not paid by Softball Association in 1940. Power Company refuses to t u r n on lights until the old balance is cleared. City a g r e e s to pay t h e bill. July 18. 1941.. . T h e bond of Winston Seegmiller was approved a n d accepted to fill the unexpired term of Rose S . Fuller, deceased. Aug. 4 , 1941.. . A committee representing the merchants of Cedar City met with the Council in relation to having a uniform closing h o u r , also the licensing of wagons, trailers a n d stores on wheels t h a t a r e using o u r s t r e e t s for trade. They also discussed the Limiting of d r u g s t o r e s to their special line of t r a d e . Referred to Committee on Finance.
