Nov. 9 , 1933.. . ( I r o n County Record) The entire Republican Ticket sweDt into office a t t h e election Tuesdav when over 1400 people' c a s t their ballots in an election w h k h , from all appearances, is an emphatic expression of the people against obligating the City f o r the construction of a Municipal Light a n d Power Plant in Cedar City. The question has been before the Council a n d people of the City for more than a y e a r , and Mayor Granger headed a Democratic Ticket on a definite power plant issue a n d took the question into politics. with the result t h a t they were decisively defeated. William R. Palmer met with t h e Council to discuss public works projects, s t a t i n g t h a t a meeting would be held in Salt Lake City, Nov. 2 2 ; he requested t h a t projects be p r e p a r e d to submit on t h a t date. The Waterworks Committee discussed the account of t h e Cedars Hotel a n d instructed the City Manager to collect t h e full account before the water is t u r n e d on. Dec. 7 , 1933.. . I t was reported t h a t Mr. Fife is ill, therefore the Mayor recommended t h a t an Engineer be secured t o take charge of t h e engineering of the Sewer Project. The City Marshal was given a list of licenses, uncollected, a n d was ordered to collect t h e same a t once. Motion made t h a t t h e T r e a s u r e r , Watermaster, a n d Manager take s t e p s to collect delinquent water accounts. Jan. 1, 1934 ...As the Grand Canyon Airlines have failed to comply with t h e terms of t h e contract, i t was suggested t h a t the airport he t u r n e d hack to t h e Dept. of Commerce. Mayor Granger reported t h a t the culinary water supply has been sufficient during most of the y e a r . The water system i s badly in need of r e p a i r , a n d t h e removal of considerable wood pipe is recommended.
