Utah, s t a t e d , "our light and power r a t e s a r e about the lowest in t h e S t a t e , a n d the plant i s paying all e x p e n s e s , i n t e r e s t on bonds. sinking f u n d , and helping besides. Our plant is a good thing for Brigham City." Mrs. Dewey Thorley moved t h a t t h e Southern Utah Power Company be g r a n t e d an extension of franchise for t h e term of four y e a r s , beginning Feb. 11. 1933, subject to terms a n d conditions which were s t a t e d . Carried. Feb. 6 , 1933.. .Mr. Gardner and Mr. Smally of Southern Utah Power Co. came to t h e meeting for t h e purpose of discussing t h e counter proposal of t h e City Council. Mr. Gardner s t a t e d t h a t t h e Company could not accept t h e counter proposal of t h e City Council and t h a t they did not have any other offer. a s t h e b e s t proposal had been offered. He f u r t h e r s t a t e d t h a t the terms a s offered in the proposal could only be given u n d e r a franchise of not less than 15 y e a r s . Councilman Parley Dalley made a motion t h a t the Power Company continue t o s e r v e after February 10 without a franchise, until formal action. Carried. Feb. 1 6 , 1933.. .Temporary power franchise to S e p t . , 1933. March 16. 1933.. .The question of raising the overflow water from the sewer to irrigate lawns a n d t r e e s in t h e cemetery was r e f e r r e d t o the Park Committee. April 11, 1933. . .Resolution.. . T h e r e is an immediate a n d pressing need of raising f u n d s to defray c u r r e n t expenses for general corporation purposes of t h e City of Cedar for t h e c u r r e n t y e a r , 1933. Be i t resolved to borrow $10,000 a n d issue 20 bonds a t 69, i n t e r e s t . May 15, 1933.. .After some consideration of an electrical s u r v e y for Cedar City. S. F . Leigh made a motion on a resolution which recommended retaining H . T . Bletzacker for t h e purpose of a preliminary s u r v e y on a municipal electric system. June 1, 1933...Parley Dalley made motion that the Veterinarian be authorized to conduct a Tubercular Test on all dairy cattle at 250 p e r head. July 20, 1933.. . E . M. Corry made motion t h a t t h e Primaries of the t h r e e Cedar Wards be allowed to sell soda water, e t c . . a t t h e City Park a n d B.A.C. campus with one-fourth of t h e net proceeds being paid to t h e City. Carried.
