City Recorder was authorized to issue certificates of election to officers elected, namely, for Mayor, Walter K . Granger: for 4-year Councilman, Samuel F . Leigh: for 2-year Councilmen, Parley Dalley, Mrs. Dewey Thorley ( f i r s t woman), and Reuben Winterrose; for Recorder. Glenwood Froyd: and for T r e a s u r e r , Golda Leigh. Jan. 7, 1932.. . P r e s e n t : Mayor Walter K. Granger; Councilmen--E. M . C o r r y , S. F. Leigh, Reuben Winterrose, Parley Dalley, Dewey Thorley: City Attorney J. M . Foster; City Manager Leland M . P e r r y ; Street Supervisor Isaac P a r r y ; and City Recorder Glenwood Froyd. Mr. P o r t e r , who contemplates opening a laundry h e r e . met with the Council f o r the purpose of securing permission to connect t h e Body and Fender Works building on Lincoln Avenue with t h e Main S t r e e t sewer. Parley Dalley moved t h a t permission be granted to M r . P o r t e r , providing he pay an annual rental to be determined by the City Manager. I t was suggested t h a t the Committee on S t r e e t s and Sidewalks investigate the matter with the City Manager. Mr. Claude Croshy met with t h e Council for t h e purpose of securing permission to sell whole o r unpasteurized milk in Cedar City. The question was r e f e r r e d to t h e Board of Health. Upon motion of Dewey Thorley, t h e following resolution was adopted: Resolved t h a t Glen F r o y d , Recorder, Mamie Gardner, T r e a s u r e r , o r Leland M . P e r r y , Deputy T r e a s u r e r of Cedar Citv C o r ~ o r a t i o n , a r e herebv authorized to sign checks, d r a f i s , receipts, o r other .instruments for tlhe withdrawal of monev beloneine to the said CorDoration a n d on deposit with, o r in, any way in the possession o f , the Deseret National Bank of Salt Lake City, Utah. (The Bank of Southern Utah closed i t s doors on December 2 4 , 1931 because of t h e Great Depression. I t opened again May 4 , 1932) The Mayor recommended t h e following appointments:
