Leigh and Thomas A . Thorley met with the Council in behalf of the Chamber of Commerce a n d made a request t h a t t h e City include an item of $500 in the next City Budget a s a contribution toward t h e securing of the Tabernacle s i t e , for t h e erection of a United States Federal Building. Unanimous May 21, 1931.. . T h e Council authorized the purchase of 890' of cast iron flow pipe from Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co. to he used to pipe Chatterley Spring into t h e system. J u n e 4 . 1931.. .Councilman Bulloch motion: Be i t resolved t h a t the City p u t down a t e s t well in Coal Creek Canyon t o see if water can be obtained for the City mains. Carried. July 2, 1931.. .Mr. H. H . L u n t , representing the Cedar City Chamber, met with the Council to see if a plan could be worked out s o t h a t t h e City could take over t h e local a i r p o r t from the U . S . Government and operate a n d maintain same. July 16, 1931.. .Mr. William H . Leigh said t h a t water shortage was causing the guests of the Hotel considerable inconvenience, and t h a t tourists were passing on through to other towns where they could get water in the hotels, which was affecting his business a n d t h a t of t h e other hotels of t h e City unfavorably. ( T h e r e was no water a f t e r 5 p . m . ) Sept. 3 , 1931.. .An ordinance: The annual salaries of t h e elective a n d appointive officers of Cedar City a r e hereby fixed a t the following amounts: (Effective J a n . 1, 1932)
