Building I n s p e c t o r , reported the condition of the Ward Hall--according to his b e s t judgement t h e building should be condemned; if necessary the State Inspector should come down a n d examine t h e building before closing t h e same. Feb. 13, 1923.. .An ordinance vacating and closing a certain portion of Second North S t r e e t , within the corporate limits of Cedar City, and granting to Los Angeles a n d Salt Lake Railroad Company the exclusive r i g h t to use the same for railroad purposes was presented by representatives of the Railroad Company and passed. March 1, 1923. . .The Mayor presented the matter of 'Clean Town' campaign for consideration of t h e Council. Mrs. Ann J . G a r d n e r , Chairman of t h e committee in charge of t h e campaign, outlined t h e proposed program. Discussion arose a s to h e r d s of sheep and cattle being driven through t h e City s t r e e t s . On motion of Councilman Palmer t h a t t h e matter of regulating the driving of sheep a n d cattle t h r o u g h t h e City was r e f e r r e d to Attorney Foster to d r a f t a suitable ordinance. March 1 5 , 1923.. .Thomas J . Jones and William A. Jones, being p r e s e n t , brought up the matter of purchasing a new Auto Hearse and asked t h e Council to appropriate p a r t of the purchase price. Estimated cost--$2135.28. Matter r e f e r r e d to Finance Committee in view of disposing of the old h e a r s e . Carried. E. B . Dalley reported a s to signers on right-of-way of electric lines. A number of people ohjected to t h e right-ofway being given to the Dixie Power Company instead of t h e City. April 5 , 1923.. .Mrs. John M . Foster, in behalf of t h e Mutuals of the East a n d West Wards, asked t h a t band concerts he held Saturday night instead of Sunday n i g h t , a s i t i n t e r f e r e s with t h e holding of Mutuals on Sunday n i g h t . Mr. Ray Forbes, representing t h e h a n d , said Sunday is t h e only time the' band can play. Referred to committee.
