Motion Councilman Palmer t h a t t h e City Attorney be directed t o make formal application to the Public Utilities Commission for a certificate of convenience a n d necessity, permitting this City to install a Municipal Electric Plant. Also, t h a t he write t h e Attorney General for an opinion a s t o whether water works bond f u n d s can be diverted t o t h a t purpose a n d in what manner. C a r r i e d . (They found t h a t f u n d s could not be diverted) Plans for a new band s t a n d presented a n d d e f e r r e d . E . B. Dalley was granted permission to conduct religious services a t t h e Tourist P a r k . J u n e 1 , 1922.. .Motion t o appropriate $300 for erection of a new Band Stand. Lost. Motion we appropriate $50 to renovate t h e old Band Stand. Carried. The Health Officer suggested t h a t the City should bear the cost of materials for fumigating houses where there had been infectious diseases. Carried A contract between t h e Dixie Power Company a n d Cedar City Corporation for s t r e e t lighting f o r t h e period of one year from Feb. 1 , 1922 was r e a d . Carried. Dr. Macfarlane, from t h e Commercial Club, stated t h a t a p a r t y was being organized by Dr. Middleton a n d Dr. Pack to come down a n d hold a celebration at Cedar Breaks on July 4th. Suggested t h a t t h e Council hold a p r o p e r program. ($225 was appropriated in t h e J u n e 15th meeting) July 6 . 1922.. .Recorder was directed to advertise for bids for digging and rocking up a Cesspool at t h e Tourist Camp. (awarded to David Dix in July 20 meeting) July 20. 1922.. .Bill of E. J . Palmer f o r back salary a s Justice of Peace. amounting to $81.10. was allowed. The City Attorney was directed t o make an effort t o collect t h a t amount from J . S . Woodbury (Past Justice of t h e Peace). Aug. 3. 1922.. . D r .
