An Ordinance dividing Cedar City into Wards. [Old Fort o r Plat A ) . Sec. l . . . B e i t ordained by the City Council of Cedar City t h a t this City b e , a n d is hereby divided into four wards, to be known and designated by t h e following boundaries, t o wit: A l l t h a t district of country lying south of t h e First South Temple S t r e e t , to t h e south boundary of City Plat a n d east of First West Temple Street shall he known and designated u n d e r t h e name a n d style of Ward No. One. Sec. 2 . . .All t h a t portion of City lots lying west of First Temple S t r e e t a n d s o u t h of First North Temple S t r e e t , the same i s h e r e b y known and designated b y the name and style of Ward No. Two. Sec. 3 . . .All t h a t portion of City lots lying north of First North Temple Street to t h e n o r t h line of City Plat a n d west of First East Temple S t r e e t , shall be known a n d designated u n d e r the name a n d style of Ward No. Three. Sec. 4 . . .All t h a t section of country lying east of First South Temple S t r e e t , to t h e e a s t boundary of City Plat. and north of First South Temple S t r e e t , which is t h e place of beginning, shall be known and designated u n d e r t h e name and style of Ward No. Four. Approved Dec. 15, 1853 Jan. 1854.. .An Ordinance regulating a n d defining the duties of Supervisors of S t r e e t s in Cedar City: Sec. 2 . . . B e it ordained b y t h e City Council of Cedar City t h a t t h e Supervisors of Streets within t h e different wards of this City a r e hereby authorized a n d required annually to cause all able-bodied male inhabitants over the age of eighteen y e a r s to labor one day on t h e streets of t h e said City. A day's labor shall h e a t the rate of ten h o u r s good and faithful work to be performed u n d e r the direction of t h e Supervisors. Sec. 6 . . . A n y person o r persons neglecting o r refusing to perform labor in payment of road t a x e s , o r pay in lieu thereof t h e sum herein specified to said Supervisors, shall be liable for double t h e amount assessed before a n y court having jurisdiction. B e i t ordained b y t h e City Council of Cedar City t h a t i t shall be t h e d u t y of t h e General Water master of t h e Corporation to t a k e t h e charge a n d supervision of all water sects leading into the City and Field for family
