J u n e 8 , 1908.. . I t was moved t h a t a r a t e of one dollar p e r season be fixed f o r each tap f o r sprinkling lawns, a n d t h a t they be allowed the privilege one h o u r , t h r e e times a week. The Watermaster was i n s t r u c t e d to construct another settling pond. (East of town--to settle t h e water from Coal Creek before i t e n t e r e d the City pipe system) The Marshal was i n s t r u c t e d to inspect all the streams t h a t f u r n i s h o u r water a n d remove all dead animals and filth a n d keep a record of marks a n d b r a n d s of animals so f o u n d . June 10, 1908.. . T h e Mayor stated t h e object of t h e meeting to consider t h e Canyon Road proposition a n d asked Commissioner Jones to make a statement a s to how he thought i t best to proceed. County Commissioner, L . W . J o n e s , stated t h a t t h e proposition of making a good road up on t h e north side of the Creek had been u n d e r consideration for some time, and he favored the City a n d County joining h a n d s on t h e project. I t was moved t h a t t h e City build the bridge across Coal Creek and complete the road to t h e City limits, a n d t h e County build a n d maintain t h e road from t h e City limits to the shale b e d s . Carried. July 7 , 1908.. . T h e Mayor s u g g e s t e d t h a t s t e p s be taken to get some good s p r i n g s piped into the City's reservoir to supply t h e inhabitants with culinary and domestic water. It was decided t h a t the Council would make a n examination of t h e nearby s p r i n g s on Monday. July 20th. Councilman Fife s t a t e d t h a t D. Urie held a deed to a certain cemetery lot, a n d J. H . Ivey claimed to have a deed to t h e same lot. Referred to Committee. (Resolved March 4 . 1909 when lvey selected another l o t . ) Aug. 3, 1908.. . I t was moved t h a t immediate action be taken toward calling a special election to vote on t h e proposition of bonding t h e City for the purpose of piping t h e water of "Big Spring" into the City reservoir. Carried. Special election to be called for Sept. 12. The City bonded for $2,966 for extending the City water system. Aug. 29, 1908.. .Proposed piping of "Big Spring" [in Right Hand Canyon1 was b r o u g h t u p by Mayor Woodbury. The distance is about 17.246 f e e t , with a total fall of 1.930 feet. Measurements found t h a t the s p r i n g contained, at this time, about 2; times a s much water a s is required to keep t h e existing reservoir full. Sept. 1 4 . 1908 . . .
