Also, of the Twelve Apostles: John Taylor, Wilford WoodmE, Orson Hyde, Orson Pratt, Charles C. Rich, Lorenzo Snow, Erastus Snow, Franklin D. Richards, George Q. Cannon, Bngham Young Jr., and Joseph Fielding Srnith [Henry's good friend, George A. Smith, was not there, as he died Septernber 1, 18751. He also invited Presiding Patriarch, John Smithand St. George Stake Presidiig Bishop, Edward Hunter, together with some visiting Bishops [Henry Lunt being among them]. The Parowan Choir sang the opening hymn, 'The Moming Breaks,' then the dedicatory prayer for the St. George Temple was offered by president Daniel H. Wells of the First Presidency. Wilford Woodmff spent several rnonths in St George doing temple work pnor to the L.D.S. Conference that was held there. The following are excerpts from his j o d : Jan. 14, 1877: Spent the evening with President Young. He requested Brigham Jr. and Wilford Woodmff to write out the Ceremony of the Endowments from beginning to end. Jan. 15: We set apart nine missionaies to Mexico and ordained seven to the office of Seventies. Bngham Young Jr. and rnyself wrote out a part of the Ceremony of the Endowment. We rode out in the aftemoon. Got the horses down in a mud hole. Got three quails and carne home. 1 spent the evening with President Young. He told me there was no necessity of dressing in the temple clothing wkle giving the 'second anointing' any more than in administering the first anointing or ordaining.
