They went to Manchester and even as far as Birmingham, but Henry had never been out of Great Britain, so he was facing a courageous adventure, considering the fact that he had no relatives in America. Before this voyage the sea had been the boundary of Henry's world, a world that was quickly disappearing behind the horizon. The Lunt children were introduced to work very early in life, as their father, Randle, was an independent farmer who owned his own estate.'
