Fri. Dec. 9, 1898: Ther. freezing, wind from east Wea. light snow all day. We chopped posts this forenoon on a small flat east of here and in the afternoon went down the creek a waise and chopped. The wind and snow made it entirely to disagreeable to suit me. Saturday 10: Ther. freezing., Wea. wind & snow from the east. We went to Uncle Crisses place and put the Fanning mill in the house and covered our potatoes up better, about noon we were gone about 3 ½ hours. we spend the rest of the day in the cabin. it was very disagreeable weather.
