recreation in the way of dancing, concerts, theatres and other social pastimes under the supervision of the teachers. Each class has an opportunity every year to give a dancing party for the purpose of raising funds for the class treasury. One very pretty custom among classes is to use this money for the purchase of some token of appreciation to leave at the ,school.
Besides these entertainments, class parties are held at the homes of the various members of the different classes.
Dancing matinees are pleasant entertainments used mainly as a reception for returning athletes, dramatic performers, and other contestants.
Dramatic Club. Members of this organization are chosen by means of "tryouts." The club has been very successful in presenting "Mr. Bob" and "The Amazons."
School Paper. "The Student," as its name signifies represents the students, and is controlled entirely by a staff of students. It is a school magazine the purpose of which is to give experience in managing and editing papers and to encourage literary efforts.
ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
The Athletic Association conducts all school athletic contests and gives opportunity for exercising the executive powers students possess. It is considered a great honor to be selected by the student body for duty on the athletic Executive Committee. This organization handles the funds of the school which are used in supporting school activities. This runs into the hundreds of dollars each year.
