being to give the citizens generally some of the educational advantages of the Normal School. Lectures illustrated with stereoptican views will be given frequently.
Lectures of national reputation will be occasionally procured.
The school also conducts a course of lectures and entertainments given by specialists. This course in itself is an education for the public.
OPERA.
Each year one high class opera is given under the department of Music. Famous pieces such as, "Esther" and "Saul" of the Oratorio" type, and the "Mascot" of the lighter opera, have been creditably rendered.
STUDENT EXPENSES.
No tuition is charged in either the preparatory course or the regular normal course, but an annual registration fee of $5.00 is required.
Teachers wishing to enter after the close of the public schools may do so any time after April 1st, by paying a registration fee of $2.50.
The privileges of the library and museum. are free. In the laboratories, workshops, cooking rooms, and in typewriting, students are charged an incidental fee to cover the cost of material used by them in their exercises.
All students are held responsible for any injury done by them to the Normal School property.
Students can obtain board at from $2.50 to $4.00 per week.
