21 STATE NORMAL SCHOOL
PHYSICAL EDUCATION.
All needful provision has been made for the proper development of the body. The students have the advantage of a variety of apparatus. Through the efforts of the Athletic Association, appliances for out-door exercises, for foot ball. base ball, basket ball and croquet have been provided.
The manual training workshop is provided with lathe and tools for work in wood and light metals. Tools and materials are also provided for work in card-board, paper cutting, and clay modeling.
CHAPEL EXERCISES.
Chapel exercises will be held at the beginning of each day. Attendance is optional, but all are invited to be present regularly.
STUDENT ORGNIZATIONS.
All students aye invited to become members of the "Students' Society." This organization aims at the promotion of the literary and general culture that results from practice, in public .speaking and parliamentary procedure.
The Athletic Association inactive not only in promoting games and out of door sports, but it is also taking an interest in other phases of physical education.
PUBLIC LECTURES.
The President and Faculty of the University will co-operate with the instructors of the Branch Normal School in giving a course of public lectures during the winter months.
These lectures will be on various scientific, literary, and philosophical subjects of popular interest, the aim being to give the citizens generally some of the educational advantages of the Normal School. Lectures illustrated with stereopticon views will be given frequently.
