Note.-Students may take an elective instead of History of Education.
SPECIAL COURSES FOR NORMALS.
Special Course in Physical Education.-Normal students who desire to prepare themselves as teachers of physical training should take, besides the required practical and theoretical work, courses 3, 4, 5, and 6 in the Department of Physical Education, and a half year of Training in Physical Education. Some of this work may be elected in the fourth and fifth years of the Normal Course.
Special Course in Reading.-Normal students who desire to prepare themselves as teachers of Reading should take Oral Expression a, b, and c, and Elocution I and V, and a ,half year of Training in Reading.
Special Course in Manual Training.-Normal students who desire to emphasize manual training in order to qualify themselves to teach it in the public schools, may elect in addition to their other work such courses in drawing and shop work as are now given in the School of Mines as will meet their needs.
