18 SOUTHERN BRANCH
Commercial Subjects. These are intended to prepare students for office work and for positions as business men. The foundation is laid for a thorough training in orthography, penmanship, typewriting, stenography, bookkeeping, and commercial law. No extra charge for these subjects.
Domestic Science. The work in this department is intended to enable' woman to apply the principles of science to the problems of her daily life. Housekeeping and garment-making are studied and practiced as occupations worthy of the best efforts of the brightest minds. Open to second year students and others prepared to do the work.
Manual Training. The three years work in the shop is planned to give young men a working knowledge of home and farm mechanics. At the same time a foundation is laid for advanced work in Mechanic Arts.
