The Lord has been k i d to rne ull the days of m y life. M y supplications and prayers have been repeatedly granted. HEN JOHN BOYDEN BECAME BISHOP IN 1953, John Jr. was attending East High, Steve was at Roosevelt Jr. High, Carmen was in the fifth grade at Uintah Elementary School, along with Paul who was in the second grade, and Orpha was chairman of the Cub Scout Committee on the Primary General Board, working on cancer and polio drives, active in the PTA, and doing the usual things expected of the mother of four children and the wife of an incredibly active husband. John had been attorney for the Ute Indians about six years and attorney for the I Iopi Indians two years by this time, as well as attorney for Utah communities, working with the development and conservation of water resources, representing the Utah Teachers Association, and still busy with numerous individual clients. Scouting and work with Orpha in the Cub Scout program, the garden club, the property in Coalville, political involvements and other interests including family projects made for a very busy life. When the time came to replace Bishop Albert G. Olofson, "Gramp" (Orpha's father) said he didn't know how anyone could do
