Three Score and Ten in Retrospect
years your service and your generosity to this institution have been sincerely appreciated. All institutions of higher learning depend heavily upon the good will of their friends. We count ourselves as fortunate indeed to number you among our own friends. The voluntary service you have performed for the state and the nation evoke our admiration and gratitude. They are too many to acknowledge individually, but we particularly call attention to your work for UNESCO, the Parent and Teachers' Association, the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, the Women's Legislative Council, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Speaking for ourselves, however, we admire especially your university-related activities - with the Alumni Council and the Board of T ~ s t e e sAs a member of the Board your calm and mature . judgment contributed greatly to the work of that body during a critical period of university development. As a Trustee, you commanded the unqualified respect and admiration of your peers and the warm appreciation of the university administration. This institution has benefited greatly from the guidance you have given it. It is our fondest hope that our association will continue. In recognition of your service to this institution as well as to the broader community, Utah State University is honored to present to you its distinguished service award.
